Flash and Actionscript work
Prior to iOS development I had been developing in Flash and Actionscript for over six years.
WEEWORLD
As an integral part of the Flash development team at Weeworld I produced interactive content and applications. I was involved across a variety of Flash AS2 and AS3 development projects and dabbled a bit in UI design and prototyping.
Go to my 'Weeroom' on Weeworld and have a play around with my Pongo and Breakout arcade machines ( the Atari CEO loved them! ), and watch what ever I have on my Youtube TV player.

BBC SCOTLAND
Within BBC Scotland New Media I worked on the ill fated BBC Jam. BBC Jam was a nationwide online education resource, mapped to the curriculum and aimed primarily for pupils to use at home as a entertaining way to supplement their learning. I was lead developer on the Symbols commission for children with learning difficulties, and the Geography commission for 7 to 11 year olds.
In their infinate wisdom the BBC Trust decided to cancel the entire project, leaving many a man hour wasted and a big pile of scrap Flash development burning in a field. Well I managed to save a couple of bits that I did so take a look.

MY SWEET JANE
This site for a local Cumbernauld band was implemented completely in Flash. It uses a PHP/MySQL backend writing out XML data files for the Flash movie to parse.
A custom media player is always visible playing audio and video while browsing the sections.

INSTINCTIVE ART
This was my "baby". As founding partner in this small graphic design and consultancy company I was responsible for creative and technical direction. I produced all of the company’s creative output, which included corporate identity design, stationery design, HTML and Flash development and back-end PHP based web development.
All in all we had a good stab at it and I learned so much. Alas it wasn't to be and we wound the business up after a couple of years. It's tough out there you know!
